Lantern fest to come back to Maryland Heights

The two-day Water Lantern Festival will return to Creve Coeur Lake in Maryland Heights at the end of August.

The Water Lantern Festival is a community experience where people can decorate lanterns and set them free across the lake alongside numerous other lit creations. The event creates a moment of introspection for attendees that can help them honor the past, set intentions for the future, and connect with loved ones. There will be food trucks at Creve Coeur Lake, though guests may bring their own food. Event-goers will also enjoy performances from local artists during the festival.

The community fest will benefit Water.org, an organization that aims to provide safe water for people across the world. The organizers also strive to keep the festival sustainable by using lanterns that won’t harm the environment. All lanterns are cleaned up after the fest as part of the organizer’s mission to leave no trace at their event venues. No outside lanterns are allowed to be used for the festival, and guests may not bring alcohol to the venue.

The Water Lantern Festival will be on Friday, August 29th and Saturday, August 30th. Tickets to participate in the fest will cost $37.99 per person when purchased in advance. Those who buy tickets on the event dates must pay $57.99. Attendees can bring camping chairs, blankets, and bug spray from home. Groups in charge of events like this may utilize banner printing services to get people interested in their special activities.
