Deaf organization to organize potluck in Maryland Heights

The STL Deaf Sport & Social Club will host a potluck in Maryland Heights to celebrate Friendsgiving this November.

The STL Deaf Friendsgiving Potluck Feast is an event where people can show their support for the deaf community by sharing food and playing games with other attendees. The program is family-friendly and is not exclusively for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. Guests are asked to bring dishes to the event that can serve 8 to 10 people. The dinner will be held at the Greater St. Louis Association of the Deaf, an organization founded in 1947 that hosts events like annual crafts fairs.

The STL Deaf Sport & Social Club is a group that was created in 2021 to give those with hearing complications a place where they can stay active and connect with others in the community. The organization was originally known as Kickball for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Adults and has expanded to include activities such as pickleball and hiking. Social clubs like this may use Print shops to create custom Flyers with information about their upcoming outings.

The Friendsgiving event will be held on Saturday, November 15 and will begin at 6:00 pm. Those who bring a dish can enter the feast for free. People who do not bring food can pay $15 to take part in the potluck. There will also be drinks available for purchase. No pre-registration is required for guests to attend the potluck.
