St. Charles runs, drinks, and eats brats

The St. Charles Oktoberfest will be here in just a few days.

Mayor Dan Borgmeyer will start things off tomorrow with the first keg tapping ceremony at Hofbrau Bier Garten at 6:00 pm.

The 9th Annual Wiener Dog Derby will start at 12:30 pm Saturday at the Bud Light Beer Garden. Entrants in the Lil’ Smokie (under a year old), Hot Dogs (two to five years), and Franks (over five years) categories will receive shirts as will the non-participating little dog cheerleaders.

The Brat Eating contest will be Saturday at 4:00 in the Hafbrau Bier Garten, where the Samuel Adams Raise the Stein competition will also be taking place.

Academy Sports + Outdoors will sponsor this year’s Saint Charles Oktoberfest 5K and 10K Race ,which will take place Sunday, starting at 8:30 am at the Lewis and Clark Boat House and Museum Parking lot, 1050 S Riverside Drive. Runners will receive commemorative medals and shirts complete with the event Logo Design. The race will begin on Riverside Drive and end on Katy Trail.

Main Street will feature the Antique Car Show on Sunday from noon until 4:30 pm.

St. Charles Oktober Fest will tomorrow, September 27, from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 pm, and September 29 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm at 1050 S. Riverside Drive at the Lewis and Clark Boathouse parking lot.
