Tournament in St. Charles fundraises for children's hospital

A pickleball tournament has been organized to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The tournament format includes round-robin play followed by a single-elimination bracket. Each team will register as a doubles pair and is guaranteed a minimum of three games. Chicken N Pickle requires all participants to complete a waiver before playing. Outside food and drinks are not permitted, but each player will receive a $10 gift card for food and beverages at the venue. Equipment will be available at no additional cost for those who need it. Print shops can be consulted for themed decorations for events.

Anna’s Flying Pigs, the fundraising team behind the event, was created in memory of a young girl named Anna, who enjoyed spotting pig-shaped clouds on her way to medical treatments. She passed away at the age of four, and the team continues to honor her legacy by raising funds for St. Jude.

The event schedule begins with volunteer setup at 9:00 a.m., followed by player check-in at 9:30 a.m. A welcome speech and tournament briefing will take place at 10:00 a.m., with matches beginning shortly thereafter. The round-robin phase will run from 10:05 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., leading into the single-elimination portion from 11:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. The event will conclude with an awards ceremony and closing remarks at 1:00 p.m.

The Anna’s Flying Pigs Pickleball Tournament will take place on May 3rd at Chicken N Pickle in St. Charles, Missouri.
