Arnold runs the Gobble

Arnold Parks and Recreation's annual Gobble Gobble 5k Run will be returning to Arnold on Thanksgiving morning.

Runners will be traveling along the Meramec River, and with the river's flat layout, many may be able to set new personal records.

Registration for either the in-person or virtual runs is $34.09 until the end of October and will go up to $37.50 after that. Although the half-mile kids run is free, all entrants must register.

Those running the 5k will receive long-sleeved white race shirts featuring the run's familiar colorful turkey graphic, and brown, orange, and white beanies. Annual events like this often have a recurring order with local printing services for event swag printing.

Awards will go to the top three female and male overall finishers and medals will go to the top three female and male finishers across 13 age categories.

The Arnold Recreation Center will have packet pickups on Tuesday, November 25 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Wednesday, November 26 from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Packets may also be collected beginning at 7:00 am on race day. The open start line will run from 8:00 am to 8:10 am, and the kids’ half-mile run will begin at 9:00 am.

Race participants are asked to bring canned food items that will be donated to the Arnold Food Pantry.

This year's Arnold Gobble Gobble 5k will take place Thursday, November 27 at 2400 Bradley Beach Road.
