Many runners here in Arnold will be heading to the First Annual Doomsday 5k Trail Race early in the new year.
Both casual outdoor aficionados and competitive runners will be hiking or running foot trails. The out-and-back course will be on pavement for the first 1/2 mile or so, proceeding for another 1.8 or so miles on all-dirt, with a few roots, rock and lots of rolling hills on the Spring Valley Trail Outer Loop before turning around and returning to the starting line.
Registration will be $70 on race day, and swag will include custom Doomsday 5K Pint Glasses, custom finisher medals and post-race snacks and coffee. Those preregistering online will be guaranteed cotton T-Shirts, Pint Glasses, and custom medals. Awards of $50 credit to future Terrain Trail Runners events will go to the top finishers.
Race events like this often have local printing services Print race logos or graphic designs on their event shirts.
Since this will be a Zero Waste event, participants will need to bring their own cups or water bottles for water on the trail and/or coffee after the race. There will also not be any aid stations along the route.
Registration will begin at 9:00 am followed by the 5k beginning at 10:00 am with a two-hour cut-off time.
The First Annual Doomsday 5k Trail Race will take place January 1st, at Cliff Cave County Park, 806 Cliff Cave Road, St. Louis.
