The Eden Prairie School District has announced that it plans to let students from grades 7-12 to return to campus for in-person learning on a hybrid model.
The announcement was posted on the district’s website. According to the post, the first batch of students is expected to start next Monday, February 8. The students returning were either on that model before, or their requests to move from online learning to the hybrid model for the coming semester were approved. Students have been learning online since November 23.
The first batch of students to arrive on campus are in Cohort A and they start February 8 and 9, with Cohort B restarting on February 10 and 11. That pattern will be followed in the weeks ahead, with Cohort A coming in on Mondays and Tuesdays, and Cohort B in school on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Both cohorts will be at learning online on Fridays. Promotional Pens are often found on school campuses.
Students that chose to use EP Online exclusively will not be required to appear in-person. Teachers are holding planning sessions this Thursday and Friday, February 4 and 5, so there will be no online classes for secondary school students on those days.
The school district decided on this model after reviewing the number of COVID cases in the district and the efficiency of the district’s social distancing and safety procedures. K-12 students will not be in school on Friday, February 12.
