Eden Prairie workshop to teach beginner calligraphy
Next month, Sip & Script will hold the Modern Calligraphy & Ornament Lettering for Beginners event in Eden Prairie for any crafty individuals interested in learning the basics of calligraphy and hand lettering.
Sip & Script is an event organizer specializing in calligraphy-themed workshops in a casual, fun environment. It was founded by two friends and calligraphers, Meg and Julie, who set about to create a way for lovers of calligraphy to gather in one space and learn hand lettering together. The classes soon grew to be hosted throughout the country, with Eden Prairie’s local venue Flying Dutchman Spirits hosting the class happening in December.
The class will include one-and-a half hours of instruction where attendees will be given a full beginner’s calligraphy set, which includes one black ink pot, two pen nibs, tracing paper, two letter guides, and a straight pen holder. Attendees will also have the chance to hand letter an acrylic holiday ornament to take home with them.
Organizers needing to prepare materials for a writing-focused or calligraphy hobby such as this may decide to visit their local stationery printers to gather everything needed.
