Eden Prairie to celebrate freedom with fireworks
Eden Prairie residents can look forward to a weekend full of fun and festivities to celebrate freedom this year.
The Independence Day festivities begin a day early, on Saturday, July 3, with an outdoor live performance of popular classics featuring the Eden Prairie Community Band and Jazz on the Prairie Big Band. The event is free to attend and gives an opportunity to honor local military personnel, both veterans and those in active service. Visitors are encouraged to arrive in red, white, and blue to show their patriotic colors. They can bring a blanket or chair to sit and enjoy the music. Food and drinks will be available to buy at the venue, or visitors can bring their own refreshments.
The celebrations continue on Sunday, July 4. Food and beverage vendors will be available from 5:00 pm. The evening begins with an address from Mayor Case and the city council. The live entertainment includes performances by Eden Prairie’s own musical prodigy Allie McIntosh and Synergy. The event will also have self-directed activities for children at the park. The performances will be followed by kid-friendly fireworks that light up the night sky. Vendors at events like this often catch the attention of the crowds with the help of banner printing.
The celebrations commence with the military salute on July 3 from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm at the Staring Lake Amphitheater, and continue on July 4 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Round Lake Park.
