The Hennepin County Plastic-Free Challenge Kick-off Party will take place in Eden Prairie next month, as a fun way to get the community involved in environmentally friendly practices.
MNimize, a partnership with the Minnesota Waste Wise Foundation and Hennepin County, will host the event. MNimize is a collaborative campaign to support and recognize businesses taking the initiative to achieve sustainability goals. The campaign also brings together these businesses with consumers in the community wishing to make a difference.
Taking place at Fat Pants Brewing Co., The Plastic-Free Challenge Kick-off Party will be an opportunity for challenge participants to meet other challenge participants, as well as the MNimize businesses and challenge partners. The party will begin with a short informative program introducing the campaign’s mission of creating a plastic-free world. Afterwards, attendees will have the chance to connect to their neighbors and fellow changemakers and brainstorm recycling strategies. There will be plastic recycling games and trivia, tips and tricks for participants to earn Challenge Points, and even giveaways of Promotional Products from Challenge partners.
The recycling challenge party is scheduled for February 6 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Fat Pants Brewing Co. can be found at 8335 Crystal View Road. The party is free and open to the public, but organizers recommend that guests register to help them gauge an accurate attendance count.
