In August, the City of Eden Prairie will hold the Arts in the Park event to support local artists and businesses in the community.
Arts in the Park is an annual city-sponsored festival dedicated to boosting the visibility of regional and local artists. The festival provides an opportunity for artists to showcase their work and for local businesses to connect with the wider community.
Attendees of the event will be able to peruse vendors selling artwork, fashion, artisanal foods, and handcrafted beauty products, among other items. Some featured vendors and artists are Amanda Pearson Art, Bird Brain Birdhouses, Cotten & Herbs, Grace Hajlo Pottery, Keeping It Together Pottery, Sumaiya Raka Fine Arts, Towhee Turning & Woodworks, and Wild Witchery Co. Eden Prairie Liquor will also be on hand selling alcoholic beverages to those 21 years old and up.
Interested artists should submit an application including five high-quality pictures with a description of each piece and its price to event organizers. Vendors will need to submit either an online or paper form to the City.
Outdoor art events often feature festive Banners strung up throughout the venue. Organizers may require the services of their area banner printing shops to prepare these materials.
The festival is scheduled for Saturday, August 20 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. It will take place at Purgatory Creek Park on 13001 Technology Drive.
