Helping Paws of Eden Prairie will present the Pet CPR and First Aid Certification Class and Fundraiser for Helping Paws to prepare individuals wishing to learn animal emergency care, as well as raise money for the local animal nonprofit.
Helping Paws trains and matches assistance dogs with veterans, first responders with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and people with physical disabilities. These dogs play an integral role in helping those in the community live better, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. The money raised from the August class registration fees will go towards supporting these programs that breed and train these dogs.
The certification class will follow the industry standard method of animal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and animal first aid, preparing the participant to administer emergency first aid to an animal until veterinarian professionals can arrive. Participants will learn how to triage, restrain, and properly transport sick or injured animals, perform canine and feline CPR, use an animal first aid kit, and many other foundational care techniques.
Instructional classes often facilitate student learning by incorporating informative Posters, which poster printing shops can help to create, to guide students through the learning material.
The animal CPR and first aid class is slated for Wednesday, August 21 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Helping Paws is located at 6569 City West Parkway. Standard class fees are $75.
