The Ham Lake branch of the Anoka County Library will be streaming a performance in January from professional dancer Djenane Saint Juste.
Those interested in watching a family-friendly dance show can attend a virtual performance held by Djenane Saint Juste. Djenane is trained in several genres of dance, including ballroom, ballet, modern, and hip-hop. She is native to Haiti and has specialized in traditional Haitian dance and folklore. Djenane uses nurturing teaching techniques to help children learn about dancing while having a good time. The program will premiere on the library’s Facebook page.
Djenane is the founder and director of the Afoutayi Dance, Music, and Arts Company. The group was originally formed in San Francisco in 2009 and organized the first Annual Haitian Dance, Art, and Music Festival the following year. The organization produces high-quality events that promote Haitian culture while inspiring people of all ages to celebrate the Caribbean nation’s traditions through music, dancing, and storytelling. Groups similar to this can use poster printing to raise local awareness for their festivals.
The virtual performance will be held on Sunday, January 31 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The dancing show is appropriate for all ages, and there are no fees necessary to view the broadcast. Guests do not need to register in advance for the program. Those who miss the performance can still watch the recording for two weeks after the show airs on Facebook.
