Creative crafting class to use stained glass near Ham Lake

A creative opportunity will be coming to the Ham Lake area next month to teach creatives the basics of working with stained glass to create a suncatcher.

The Stained Glass Suncatcher Choice Project Class has opened registration online for a creative session that teaches students to assemble pieces of glass to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art for home decor or to give as a gift. Students will have 50 different designs to choose from.

The class’s instructor will demonstrate how to apply copper foil to the provided pre-cut glass pieces to complete the piece. Students will receive tips and step-by-step guidance to ensure a positive learning experience.

No experience is necessary for enrolled participants, and the workshop is designed to accommodate middle school children to adults. Print shops can provide high-quality instructional documents that aid students and allow them to continue learning at home.

Tickets are sold in two parts, with interested parties needing to purchase a general admission ticket along with the project kit of their choice. The creative process will require using hot soldering irons, potentially sharp glass, and chemicals, bringing the risk of burns or cuts.

The class will be held at 646 East River Road in neighboring Anoka, and is scheduled for next Wednesday, May 27 starting at 6:30 PM. General admission is $28.52, and designs start at $17.85.
