Artistic activity fuses natural inspiration and creativity

A mid-January event is bringing an art class with a nature theme to the local area, and Ham Lake residents are sure to enjoy the experience.

Design Your Own Stained Glass Succulents is a lesson from The Artery Studio & Glass Arts. In this activity, attendees will work on making a glass sculpture of a plant in the succulent family. Everyone will get to work hands-on with several tools, materials, and techniques to put their unique work of art together.

Hot tools, sharp glass, and chemicals will be used in the project. Gloves and safety glasses will be provided by the venue. An instructor will be around to help everyone out with their sculptures. Each piece will contain a trio of succulents placed inside a wooden box made to look like a planter.

The Artery Studio venue, also the organizer of the event, confirmed if a project is unfinished by the end of the event, people are welcome to return during “open studio hours” for free.

Tickets are available on EventBrite, for a cost of $65.87, including fees. While the class is a little more advanced, beginners are welcome to give it a try! Flyer printing is a popular promotion technique for many art lessons. Located in Anoka, just a short trip from Ham Lake, the event is taking place between 1:00pm and 5:00pm on January 17th.
