Runners in the Fenton area will have the chance to participate in a road race this September, as a distance event is teaming up with a festival in town.
The 54th Annual St. John Applefest Road Race is opening registration to interested runners, joggers, and walkers who want to sign up and test their endurance. The race will have several categories, making it accessible to children and adults of all fitness levels. The courses will be 100% paved, taking runners through Fenton’s scenic streets during the transition to autumn.
Organizers have arranged for a 10K run, 5K run, 5K walk, 1-mile run, and the Kids’ Core-ter Mile. The running event is being set up with assistance from Great Lakes Race Management to provide the best race day experience for all. Banner printing offers sponsors a way to make impressions at running events like this along the course and at the race’s finish line.
Finishers of all races will receive a medal for their efforts. There will also be overall and age group awards handed out. Mile markers will be installed to help runners and walkers track their progress through the course. Post-race refreshments will also be provided.
Registered participants will meet at 600 North Adelaide Street in Fenton on Saturday, September 19th. Check-in will start at 8:30am. Registration is open online starting at $45 for the 10K run.
