Fenton residents who want to take their baking skills to the next level will have an ideal opportunity to look forward to this October, as a sourdough workshop is around the corner.
The Einkorn Sourdough Bread Workshop will open its doors to registered guests in Fenton soon to shed light on the history of sourdough and the differences when working with it over traditional bread dough. The workshop is being organized by Fenton’s Hawthorne & Violet Herbal Apothecary & Naturopathic Services.
Students will learn how to overcome the trickiness of sourdough while exploring the health benefits, including lower concentrations of gluten, gentler digestion, more protein, and a flavor that stands out from other types of bread. Workshop hosts and instructors can rely on printing services to get high-quality printed ingredient lists and recipes for culinary workshops like this, leading to a more memorable and positive learning experience.
All ingredients will be provided to enrolled students to help them get their sourdough starter going. Most tools are also provided, though participants will need to bring a medium-to-large mixing bowl, a digital scale, and a dish towel for drying their hands. The class size is limited to 10 spots.
Students will meet at 1024 North Leroy Street in Fenton at 10:30am on Saturday, October 3rd. The workshop will run for two hours. Registration is available online for $70 per person.
