Fenton residents seeking natural and holistic health solutions can pick up some new skills, as a local apothecary is offering a learning course.
The Herbal Medicine Making workshop, which is being offered by Hawthorn & Violet Herbal Apothecary & Naturopathic Services, has announced a unique learning opportunity for Fenton residents who want to learn more about natural herbs and their health benefits. The class will provide a demonstration to enrollees that will share the necessary steps to take when turning herbs into medicines.
Students will have several opportunities to assist the instructor and gain hands-on experience to then use at home. The class is expected to last around two and a half hours, though it may run over that time, so attendees should account for the potential for a longer class when registering. Printing services are invaluable resources for such events, providing documents that share recipes and instructions for an improved learning experience.
Other focal points of the workshop will include poultices, syrups, salves, decoctions, tinctures, and other useful ways to get the most from different herbs. The class has a tendency to fill up quickly, so interested parties are encouraged to make reservations while spots remain.
The workshop will be hosted by Hawthorn & Violet, located on North Leroy Street in downtown Fenton. It will begin at 1:30 PM on Sunday, February 22. Registration is $35 per student online.
