This is in addition to traffic disruptions already experienced along Interstate 696. One or more significant local road projects are being initiated by both cities, which means that individuals should factor in additional travel time while passing through specific regions of the area. Printing services could be used to divert traffic in cases like this.
Karen Mondora, the Director of Public Services in Farmington Hill, stated:
"We are trying to be strategic in our projects for the upcoming years to try and accommodate as much traffic that will be detouring off 696 onto our city roadways.”
This year, the most extensive projects in Farmington Hills are being carried out on 14 Mile Road and Farmington Road. Commencing this month and continuing until early fall, the construction work on Farmington Road between 12 Mile and 13 Mile roads will mean the section will be closed to traffic.
Also, 14 Mile Road between Drake and Farmington Roads closed to traffic on April 24 for repaving, with the work anticipated to conclude in August. The total cost of the Farmington and 14 Mile projects, along with a few other works in the industrial corridor of the city, is estimated to be $15m.
