A camp is scheduled that will appeal to any youngster who dreams of playing as a goalkeeper in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Future Pro USA is running a 2020 Summer Camp for four days, at Suburban Ice Farmington Hills. Young people who want to learn how to be a goalie for the NHL should consider attending. The camp is open to children as young as seven, and there are three levels of training: general, advanced, and elite.
Future Pro was founded by Steve McKichan, who was a goalie for the Vancouver Canucks and Milwaukee Admirals. He was also a goaltending coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs. His hockey career was ended by an injury, and he dealt with the necessity of moving from the NHL to the life of an ordinary citizen by coaching young people. McKichan had been mentored by famous coaches like Ted Oiumet and Mitch Korn, and believed he could be an effective mentor to younger athletes.
Future Pro held its first camp in 1992 in Ontario. The event lasted for three weeks, and drew an attendance of 57 goalies. Today, Future Pro has 20 locations in Canada and the United States, and more than 1,000 goalies attend the camps.
The 2020 Summer Camp is scheduled for August 3-7, starting at 8:30 am on August 3. Flyer printing can provide informative handouts for attendees at events such as this.
