Heritage Celebration coming up soon in Farmington Hills

Farmington Hills is proud of its heritage, and celebrates it each year. This year, the Heritage Celebration will be held in Heritage Park, and is free to children and adults alike.

The Heritage and History Center will be open for tours, and visitors will be able to play old-fashioned farm games, and learn about the Goodenough and Spicer family histories. They will also learn about the Longacre House, enjoy hands-on activities, and watch demonstrations of the way life was lived in the past. Banner printing can be used to provide suitable decorations for events like this.

Old-fashioned, guided hayrides will be given for $5 per person, except for children under two, who may ride free of charge. There is limited availability on each ride, so it is recommended that interested people preregister. Attendees can register online, or by stopping in at the Costick Center on Eleven Mile Road.

In addition, Heritage Park is home to the Farmington Hills Nature Center, which is also part of the festivities. The park offers a variety of trails of varying degrees of difficulty, all well-maintained, and activities for people of all ages, such as a trail designed specifically for children, where smell Boxes are featured.

The Heritage Celebration takes place from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm on September 20. Hayrides leave on the half-hour, with the last ride starting at 7:00 pm.
