The iconic Chevrolet Corvette turns sixty in 2013, but fans in the Farmington Hills, Michigan, area are already celebrating.
On September 30, George Matick Chevrolet, a dealership in Redford Township about ten miles from Farmington Hills, held a ‘Corvette Open House’. More than 100 Corvette aficionados turned out to pay tribute to their favorite automobile.
The open house featured refreshments, opportunities to test-drive Corvettes, a special appearance by Corvette race driver Danny Kellermeyer, and a question-and-answer session with Corvette’s brand manager, Art Spong. Fans came to the celebration from Southfield, Birmingham, and Farmington Hills, among other towns, forming what fan Sharon Mase calls a “special group”, bonded by love of its favorite car.
In addition to the test drives, special appearances, and the question-and-answer session, attendees entered drawings for gifts related to the Corvette.
Corvette-lovers tend to be very passionate about the car, none more so than Howard Rundell, who bought his first Corvette forty-two years ago and can remember the exact date of the purchase - November 6, 1970. He bought a new car recently and declared it was as special as the first. Meanwhile, Sharon Mase and her husband celebrated their 35th anniversary by buying a new Corvette.
Matick Chevrolet’s general manager, Molly Williams, was very happy with the event and the number of people who came out to celebrate with the dealership. She says she was “thrilled” to create a special day for Corvette fans.
Matick could easily have utilized flyer and brochure printers to promote the event and might also have created special Posters as prizes for the drawings.Get a Free Quote for Posters
