An event pairing puppies and pickleball is coming to the Reisterstown area next month, offering local players an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for a good cause.
The Pickle for Pups Pickleball Fall Tournament is set to get underway, providing a space for a social round-robin pickleball gathering. Reed’s Rescue is organizing the event, which will use all the proceeds from the tournament and social to rescue and provide for senior and hospice dogs in the region.
For the price of admission, each player will enjoy a guaranteed three games of pickleball. Hot dogs and refreshing beverages will be available to spectators and players at the social. Foster puppies will also be available for interested parties to meet and adopt. Flyer printing is an effective grassroots method to spread awareness of such gatherings in the town.
Previous versions of the event sold out quickly, so interested players are encouraged to make reservations while they last. Players can sign up as individuals or with a partner. Guests must also provide their T-shirt size when registering. The event will be held rain or shine.
The Garrison Forest School will host the pickleball event and puppies on Sunday, October 20. Players are welcome to arrive at 8:00 AM. Tickets start at $66 per player and can be purchased online.
