A historical experience will be taking Reisterstown residents deep into the history of draft horses later this month to provide a greater appreciation and understanding of their importance.
The Draft Horses in America expo, which is being put together by the Maryland Horse Foundation, is gearing up to welcome equestrian enthusiasts and other interested individuals who want to learn about draft horses, their origins, and discover the role that these horses played for farmers and early businesses. The session will be led by Christie Harrison, the owner of Flying H Farm in nearby Union Bridge, Maryland.
Harrison will share information about the heavy breeds of horses, looking at their attributes and why they were well-suited for farm work and construction efforts. One example that Harrison will focus on is the Flying H Belgian breed, which are bred at Flying H Farms, and that compete at local and regional shows. Flyer printing offers a cost-effective way to promote learning experiences like this through impressions in busy parts of town.
Guests will enjoy a meet-and-greet experience with some of the Flying H horses after the educational experience concludes. The experience is open to all ages, and guests will enjoy free parking.
The class will be held at the Maryland Horse Library & Educational Center in Reisterstown on Monday, July 27th from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Reservations are free online.
