Creatives in the Frederick area will want to make a note in their Journals of an upcoming painting workshop and learning opportunity.

The Paint Passionately with Pastels with Jeri Greenberg workshop has been officially scheduled in Frederick, and area residents with an interest in learning the basics or adding to their skills are encouraged to register. The learning sessions will be led by Jeri Greenberg, an experienced local artist with a passion for teaching others.

Students who enroll in the weekend class will learn the tips and tricks to bring figures and still life scenes out with vibrant sharpness and clarity using pastels. Greenberg will demonstrate how to use drawings as the starting point for adding color to the pieces. She will also teach how to create the underlayer for paintings. Flyer printing can help organizers and sponsors promote such events in the community to encourage increased participation and awareness.

The class will be geared toward beginners, though it is open to all interested parties who want to add to their existing skills. All necessary supplies are included with the workshop's tuition. Spots are limited, so interested parties are encouraged to sign up soon.

The class sessions will be held at the Delaplaine Arts Center in Frederick from Saturday, August 9 to Sunday, August 10. Class starts at 10:00 AM. Registration is $200 per student.
