Columbia puts on Charlie Brown Jazz Brunch
An event featuring The Eric Byrd Trio, a screening of A Charlie Brown Christmas, and a brunch is set to take place in Columbia this December.
The Eric Byrd Trio, comprises Eric Byrd on piano and vocals, Bhagwan Khalsa on bass, and Alphonso Young, Jr. on drums, the group is known for their innovative fusion of jazz, gospel, and blues. The group has a 20-year career marked by accolades, including the Governor’s Citation from the State of Maryland and the 2022 Wammie Award for Jazz Recording of the Year.
This performance is part of the Trio’s ongoing tradition of connecting audiences to jazz, drawing on their own vast expertise and collaborations with jazz luminaries such as Wynton Marsalis, Charlie Byrd, and Vanessa Rubin.
The brunch buffet will be served from 11 am to 1 pm. Along with the brunch, each ticket includes a complimentary beer or wine. Additional bar offerings will feature bottomless Bloody Marys and Mimosa specials.
The event will screen A Charlie Brown Christmas at noon. This will be followed by a live performance from the Eric Byrd Trio showcasing Guaraldi’s celebrated holiday soundtrack.
