A facility that specializes in teaching math is holding an open house in its new Beltsville location.
Mathnasium, which has more than 1,000 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, specializes in teaching math to children in grades 2-12. The company has developed what it calls the Mathnasium Method™ which has made it successful in helping children learn math.
The Method has three components. First, the students take an assessment that determines their individual needs. This allows instructors to understand the students’ current abilities and devise a plan to help them. The assessments recur throughout their Mathnasium career to make sure students are progressing and retaining the skills they learn.
The second step is to create custom learning plans that teach the ideas the student needs to learn, and then use instructional methods and proprietary materials to make sure they master the concepts.
The third component is the instructors, who are specially trained to implement the plan and work with every student to make certain they learn the material. Instructors also make time to provide help with homework, so students feel confident they can finish it at home. Constantly monitoring the students’ progress and creating a nurturing environment can result in students who not only find they can understand math, but enjoy it too.
The Mathnasium will be open to the public on June 25, from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm. When events like this are scheduled to introduce new businesses, the operators can use brochure printing to create informative pamphlets.
