Beltsville learns about pizzeria management

Aspiring restaurant owners and pizza professionals will have an opportunity to develop business and culinary skills in Beltsville this October.

This intensive course is designed for individuals preparing to launch a pizzeria as well as new operators seeking to strengthen their knowledge of restaurant management. Enrollment is limited to 18 participants to provide a focused learning environment.

Instruction will be led by pizza experts John Arena, Giulio Adriani, and Scott Wiener. Arena brings more than five decades of industry experience and is known for creating university-level courses dedicated to pizza entrepreneurship. Adriani, a certified Neapolitan pizza master, has owned restaurants in multiple countries and teaches traditional Italian techniques worldwide. Wiener, founder of Scott's Pizza Tours and the nonprofit Slice Out Hunger, is an author, competition judge and television personality with extensive experience in pizza education.

The curriculum combines classroom instruction with practical training covering menu development, equipment selection, ingredient sourcing, restaurant design, dough preparation, business mathematics, marketing, public relations and operational management. Participants will also receive hands-on instruction in Neapolitan and New York-style pizza production. Each student will earn a Pizza University certificate, receive an apron and chef jacket, gain networking opportunities and have access to post-class support after completing the program.

Adult registration costs $2,100 per participant. Organizers of events such as this one often use flyer printing to promote their professional development opportunities.

The course dates are October 19 to 21. It will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day at Pizza University & Culinary Arts Center, 10310 Southard Drive, Beltsville.
