Another chance for a spirited tour

People who missed a fun tour in Beltsville have another chance.

Schmidt Spirits is offering a tour of its craft distillery, where participants will learn about what it takes to distill spirits from start to finish. The end of the tour is a tasting featuring the complete line of Schmidt’s products.

The company distills both whiskey and gin, and the tour will show people how they are made. The tour will show people the machines that are used to mash grains and distill spirits, as well as the barrel room where the products are aged and finished. The tour ends with a tasting of all six spirits made at the distillery.

As a gift, those taking the tour will receive a souvenir glass, and if people would prefer to remain a bit longer, they will be welcome to enjoy additional cocktails in the tasting room. When events like this are planned, organizers can create a guide using flyer printing.

The distillery tour and tasting event is April 23, from 3pm until 4pm. Schmidt Spirits is based at 10360 Southard Drive in Beltsville. Anyone who intends to taste alcohol must be at least 21 years of age, and a valid ID will be required. Since the distillery is small, only twelve people can take a tour at any one time, so anyone interested should book early.
