Paint-and-sip parties have become steadily more popular, and now one is on the schedule for Beltsville.
Schmidt Spirits Distillery is the location and host of the upcoming Distillery Paint and Sip with Hilary Beall event. The distillery regularly hosts unique and enjoyable events for residents of Beltsville and the local area.
A paint-and-sip evening is just what it sounds like—participants will create a painting of their own while they enjoy sipping on the spirits made at the distillery. Local artist Hilary Beall, who often works with this venue, will be coaching the artists. The reason for holding the event at the distillery is to give people a chance to sample its craft cocktails, which are a fun part of the evening.
All the materials necessary to create an original artwork are included in the fee, and of course, the creator will take the painting with them at the end of the night. The first cocktail of the night is also included. Hilary will encourage people to experiment with color, use different techniques and understand the creative process at a deeper level.
Distillery Paint and Sip with Hilary Beall is set for January 11. The doors will open at 6.30 pm, with the painting beginning at 7.00 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether they are experienced or have never painted in their lives.
