A famous thoroughbred race will soon be returning to Baltimore for the 138th straight year. In about three weeks' time, thousands of spectators will be arriving in the city to watch the Preakness Stakes. Banner printing is likely in higher demand as the organizers and sponsors of this competition prepare for the big day.
The Preakness race is part of the Triple Crown series, which features three-year-old colts and geldings. The other two races are the Kentucky Derby, which will be held earlier in the month, and the Belmont Stakes, which will take place in New York State in June. To be declared the Triple Crown champion, a horse must win all three of the races. So far, this has only happened 11 times in history.
Although the actual competition will last no longer than three minutes, those who attend the Preakness Stakes can expect to enjoy an entire day of excitement. They will be able to choose from a variety of dining venues, including a ‘Hall of Fame Room’ and a sports bar. The event will also feature a Beer Garden. A number of musical artists, including rapper Pitbull and country duo Florida Georgia Line, will be on hand to provide live infield entertainment.
The Preakness Stakes will be held on Saturday, May 18, at the Pimlico Race Course (5201 Park Heights Avenue). Tickets are still available, although prices are increasing as the day of the event draws nearer. Those who are interested in attending may call (877) 206-8042.
