The zoo released a video that showed Anoki romping in the snow, playing with a ball, and obviously feeling very much at home. She appeared to play fetch by herself, throwing the ball and retrieving it, then pushing it deep into the snow.
The zoo posted the video on Facebook and accompanied it by noting:
“Anoki finally got her snow day. She sure did have fun in it.”
The zoo went on to say it was posting the video everyone wanted to see, because the demand was so great.
Anoki is not the animal to enchant the internet with her antics. Tian Tian, a panda at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., is the subject of a video that has been viewed more than 59 million times. In it, the giant panda turns a somersault and rolls down a snowy hill, then wiggles around in the deep drifts, almost as if he is making panda-style snow angels.
Maryland Zoo officials might capitalize on Anoki's popular video by creating a brochure with stills from the film, showing her romp. They could mail the brochure to locals and make it available in and near the zoo.
