Make sure your business is running efficiently

The National Facilities Management and Technology (NFMT) conference will take place at the Baltimore Convention Center from March 13-15. Admission to the vendor expo and several educational sessions are free and workshops cost $99 for NFMT members and $149 for non-members in advance.

The NFMT conference will feature 120 free educational sessions, several workshops, over 400 vendors and several networking opportunities. The conference, while aimed at facilities managers will also be of interest to business owners. There will be 10 tracks to choose from with concurrent sessions. Those tracks are:

• Energy efficiency
• Green standards
• Greening an existing building
• Leadership and career advancement
• Maintenance and operations
• Power: generation and reliability
• Safety and security
• Staff training and development
• Strategic planning
• Systems
• Technology

Workshops will include topics such as energy efficiency, basics of standby power and proven energy saving initiatives. There will also be a “Women in Facilities Management” roundtable. The vendor area will open daily at 12 pm and will feature five vendor pavilions.

Many of these topics will interest any type of company in the Baltimore, including printing companies, who are committed to using environmentally friendly products, believe in recycling and want to make their buildings as energy efficient as possible.

As noted, there will be several networking opportunities at the conference. The main networking event will be the party on March 13 which begins at 4 pm. This event will feature appetizers, drinks, entertainment and prize giveaways. There will be lots of chances to exchange Business Cards and interact with your business peers.
