Influential band coming to Baltimore

A band whose name is synonymous with the alternative rock and grunge scene is on the way to Baltimore.

Pearl Jam will appear in the Charm City soon, bringing their iconic rock sound to fans hungry for their unique style. The Grammy-winning band formed in Seattle in 1990, and broke into the mainstream the following year with the album “Ten.”

Often cited as one of the most influential bands in the grunge movement, Pearl Jam have sold over 80 million albums worldwide in their career. They were inducted into the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.

Pearl Jam cites a number of classic rock and punk rock bands as having had an influence on its style, notably Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Kiss. Critics say part of the band's success is due to its ability to merge several genres, including post-punk and stadium rock. One review called the band's performance

“. . . 21st century classic rock: visceral and exciting, but also warm, engaging, natural. . . . Have Pearl Jam quietly become one of rock’s best, most beloved and even important bands in the world right now? Um, yes.”

Pearl Jam will appear Saturday, March 28, at 7:30 pm, at the Royal Farms Arena. Flyer printing can be used to provide programs for attendees of the performance.
