Dogs now welcome at Baltimore hotel

The Lord Baltimore Hotel in Baltimore has literally gone to the dogs, having recently adopted a policy of allowing hotel guests to bring their canine family members with them.

The hotel has set aside two floors for dog owners, and equipped the pet-friendly rooms with bowls for food and water, and dog beds.

Onahlea Shimunek, the hotel’s general manager, is a dog owner, and said she found it convenient to travel with her pet, and stay in hotels where animals are welcome. She believes that guests will enjoy exploring Baltimore even more if they can bring their dogs with them.

There are certain restrictions with regards to the hotel’s canine guests. There are only two dogs allowed to a room, and together, they cannot weigh more than 80lb. Also, while they’re in common areas, such as hallways, elevators, and the lobby, the dogs must be kept on their leads. In addition, there is a $50 pet fee for those guests bringing their dogs with them.

Despite these rules, there is still plenty of fun in store for the canines. The hotel, which is on West Baltimore Street, is only a block from the Liberty Dog Park. When the dogs get back, they can enjoy treats baked by hotel staffers every day.

When policy changes like this occur, managers could work with a brochure printing company to highlight the new amenities.
