Although the dog days of summer are now upon us, young Baltimore students are already beginning to prepare for an August festival intended to streamline the transition of going back to school for children and families alike.
Mayor Brandon Scott's Back to School Kick-Off provides a way for families to celebrate the end of the summer, and to prepare for the upcoming school year. While there are many fun activities to enjoy, this event also aims to stress the importance of education throughout the community, and to provide various resources that parents can utilize throughout the upcoming school year. Some of these resources include school supplies, snacks, and even free backpack giveaways .
Similar to previous events, Mayor Scott and his team will use various methods to advertise what is in store. Poster printing, local banner advertisements, and timely online updates help to ensure that attendees are kept in the loop at all times.
This family-friendly event offers several additional on-site attractions. These include live entertainment, and food samples prepared by local vendors.
This event is being held on Saturday, August 23rd between 11 AM and 4 PM at War Memorial Plaza, 100 Holliday Street.
