The Maryland Science Center in Baltimore will be organizing a festival in August that encourages mess-making.
Mess Fest is a unique event where museum guests can take part in oozy activities throughout the science center. Attendees will get to contribute to a collaborative art project on the venue’s windows, explore a life-sized nose exhibit, and partake in sloppy experiments. Participants are recommended to wear painting clothes and dirty shoes to the festival. Attractions that hold events like this may use banner printing to promote their fests to passing motorists.
The Maryland Science Center was initially incorporated in 1826 with the name of The Maryland Academy of Science and Literature. The current facility offers several exhibits for families to explore, including Life Beyond Earth, Math in Nature, and You - The Inside Story. The center also has an on-site IMAX Theater, planetarium, and observatory. The museum even offers science activities for adult audiences, such as Whiskey in the Shed and DIY Happy Hour.
The messy festival will take place on August 6 and August 7 from noon to 4:00 pm. The whole experience is included in the admission cost to the science center, which is $25.95 for adults and $19.95 for children. People can add an IMAX documentary to their visit for $5. Those with groups of 15 or more guests can get a discount on their admission.
