The Swap Shop is now open in New Bedford.
This is a new initiative at the New Bedford Recycling Center that allows residents to pick up and drop off reusable items at no charge.
Donations are accepted that include gently used items such as silverware and dishes; pots, pans, baking sheets, and other cookware; and Books. Donations not currently accepted include microwaves, household appliances, and other plug-in devices, as well as rusty, stained, or dirty items; furniture; toys and games; and items with missing parts. Forbidding these items will help keep the space manageable and safe.
Such new initiatives can turn to local Print shops to help Print Flyers and other materials with more details about donations, eligibility, and hours of operation.
Donations need to be approved by an attendant at the Recycling Center, and no more than three items per day can be dropped off. Items need to be functional, clean, and in a condition appropriate for a gift. Any item can be refused by the city for any reason regardless of category or condition. All items donated are free to take.
Residents of New Bedford can participate in the Swap Shop, with proof of residency required. The Swap Shop is open from noon to 5:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Books Get a Free Quote for Print
