Held at Eastern Kentucky University, the theme of the conference was ‘Let the Magic Begin’. A total of 33 schools, 742 students, and 35 advisors attended. The conference took place over the course of a single day, on March 9.
It allowed students to apply the concepts and ideas they study in business classes by allowing them to participate in a number of competitions. The contest categories included impromptu speaking, social media campaigns, and business ethics. The conference organizers can use Stationery printers to produce certificates for the winners in each category.
Speaking to the Richmond Register, participating students were enthusiastic about their experience. Isaiah Owsley, a student from Madison County ATC, said:
“It has been awesome. We have gotten to meet so many new people and make new friends.”
Greg Schloemer, the FBLA president from Berea Community, noted that the conference not only helped him hone his business skills, but also his leadership skills. He said:
“I had to compete in my own competition (network design), while also ensuring that all of the other BCHS members made it to where they were supposed to be.”
Students who perform well at the regional conference have the opportunity to receive scholarships or prize money. The top three contestants in every category are invited to compete at the state conference, which takes place in April.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
