Richmond park helps keep kids cool

Summers in Richmond are usually drenched in heat, but thanks to an initiative facilitated by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, kids in the area will be able to keep cool.

The city’s Spray and Play program will be set up at Irvine-McDowell Park. The sessions are free to attend and are being hosted thanks to assistance from the Richmond Fire Department, and there will be other excitement as well as the water.

During the hour-long Spray and Play sessions, the fire department will transform their hose into a sprinkler system for kids to run and play in. To add even more fun, Kona Ice will be serving the attendees shaved ice on the house. The park is located at 345 Lancaster Avenue and youngsters of all ages are invited to take part.

Summer is a popular time of the year for social activities, and many will be family friendly. Parents may appreciate community guides and other publications that keep them informed about what is going on, and these can be prepared by a brochure printing company.

The Spray and Play program has sessions set for July 8, 15, and 22, all of which are Wednesdays. They each run from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, and parents or guardians who require more details can find them on the Visit Richmond website.
