Richmond venue to host historical holiday celebration

Anyone who would like to find out how the local area celebrated the holiday season in the 18th Century is welcome to be part of an event coming up at Richmond’s Fort Boonesborough State Park.

The staff and volunteers at the site will be preparing the venue for its Christmas at the Fort, and it will provide a step back in time. The gentle light of candles will provide the illumination, and an assortment of cultural and ethnic groups will have displays that showcase their own special traditions.

The decorations that will be on display during the activity will be typical of what would have been used by families during the 1700s, and living history interpreters will help to create an even more historic feel. Visitors will be able to gather and warm up by one of the bonfires, refreshments will be on offer.

In the listing that has been prepared for the occasion, the organizers explained that it is being hosted thanks to support from the Fort Boonesborough Foundation. A flyer printing company can prepare an assortment of promotional materials to help make sure the public knows about activities on offer in their home area.

Fort Boonesborough State Park will be welcoming guests for its 18th Century Christmas at the Fort from December 2 to December 3. The Kentucky State Parks website provides more information.
