Richmond event gives every dog its day

Richmond pups and their people will be congregating for an afternoon of “Howl-a-Ween” fun.

White Hall Park will welcome dogs and their owners for a gathering that will have a Halloween theme. The spooky festivities will be raising money for the Madison County Animal Shelter, which will help it provide a helping paw to animals in need.

The organizers will have a collection station set up at the Shelter where the public can drop off treats and other donations before they head to the gathering. There will be dogs to visit, and the hope is that many attendees will choose to adopt a new furry friend. Rabies vaccinations will be available thanks Dr. Gary Short and the Madison County Health Department. A photo booth and microchipping will be in the mix as well. Music will be playing, and everyone can visit the make-and-take crafting tables.

To ensure the fundraiser is a success, the planners have reached out to the local business community seeking sponsors. Those that reserve a booth space will be able to distribute Promotional Products and other treats.

Richmond’s canine set and the people who love them will be celebrating with the Howl-A-Ween fundraiser planned for Sunday, October 25. The final date to apply to set up a booth or reserve a sponsorship is Sunday, October 11.
