Richmond residents are asked to show their community spirit by registering now for an activity that will help to keep the community in top form.
Main Street Clean Sweep has been rescheduled from its original April date, and the organizers have put out a call for volunteers. They will be divided up into teams led by captains, and there at least 10 who have already signed up and are ready to go.
Those who register to lend a hand will be cleaning up trash and other litter in Richmond’s downtown and other areas. Before they head out to begin their work, everyone will gather for a group photo and a free lunch. Gloves, trash Bags and bottled water will be supplied to each helper and they will each also receive a T-shirt will a fun graphic design to thank them for showing their community pride.
This project is being undertaken as part of an initiative that will work to keep Central Kentucky cities and towns looking their best. The planners explained it tends to be a popular event, and by keeping the downtown looking great, it can also help to boost the local economy.
The Main Street Clean Sweep 2020 spruce-up day has been rescheduled to September 18, and all help will be appreciated. The staging area for the afternoon will be set up at 101 West Main Street.
