Jessica Ball founded Hannah's Care Packages in the Richmond area to help people feel better connected to the causes they contribute to. The organization uses social media outlets to help its donors see the good work its contributions are doing.
Nonprofit organizations often use marketing services to get the word out about their mission and to encourage people to help out. Hannah's Care Packages goes one step beyond that by actually getting people directly involved caring for others.
Speaking to the Richmond Register, Ball said:
"There is a disconnect sometimes, when you don't get to see where your money or volunteer hours are going. That is why we strive to keep people updated on where these Bags are going and who they are helping."
While the students worked on packing up the care packages, volunteers explained where the packages were going and why it was so important that the children help. The students had plenty of questions for Ball and the other volunteers. Ball praised the students for being so curious and ready to help.
The packages were scheduled to go to Waco Elementary after their visit at Glenn Marshall. Once Waco students put the finishing touches on the bags, the care packages were set to be given out to families who have children in the hospital.
