Not every Richmond family has a pantry filled with nutritious food, and an upcoming fun run fundraiser will work to change that.
Chenault Vineyards will be the presenting sponsor for the 2022 Track for Packs fundraising run and walk, and everyone is encouraged to get involved in any way they can. They can choose to lace up their sneakers and take part in the activity, or help out as a volunteer or sponsor.
The event will follow a five-kilometre course, and the public can choose to run, walk, or use a mobility device such as a wheelchair or rollator. Those who are interested can choose to use the chip timing bibs, and awards will be presented to the top finishers. As an extra incentive, the organizers explained that the school with the most participants will receive a bonus prize of $500.00.
The monies raised through the day will be used to fill a backpack with healthy food for local students in need. The listing pointed out that anyone who registers for the fundraiser before September 1 will receive a limited edition T-shirt that boasts a graphic design prepared for the occasion.
This chance to have fun while helping families in need will hit the road on Saturday, September 17. Its Run Signup listing is now active and accepting registrations from the public.
