Richmond evening to explore local history

Richmond is a city with a long and storied history, and one of its historic sites will be hosting an evening its organizers hope will delight area history buffs.

One of the most prominent features of White Hall Historic Site is a 45-room mansion, and it will be opening its doors for a gathering that will offer a glimpse into the area’s past. In response to Covid, seating will be assigned, and the organizer explained that it may be possible to seat groups together if arrangements are made in advance.

The guests at the function will be served a four-course high tea, and while they enjoy the experience, they will have a chance to learn more about the Clay family, who were the original owners of the property. The host will discuss how its members played active roles in local and national politics, as well as the emancipation and suffrage movements. Tickets for the occasion are $45 each plus any applicable fees.

Planning an evening like this often includes adding small extra touches that make the experience even more memorable. Stationery printers can lend a hand by creating printed Menus, Signs, programs, and other materials.

The Spring into History Evening Tea will explore Richmond’s past next Sunday, May 23. The venue where the function will take place is located at 500 White Hall Shrine Road.
