Richmond center in search of socks

To help make sure people throughout Richmond are fully clothed this winter, the Battle of Richmond Visitors Center is collecting new socks to give out to people in need.

Cold feet are not only experienced by people who are nervous or about to make a life changing decision; they are also experienced by people who do not have enough clothing to keep them warm. Richmond Civil War battlefield superintendent Phillip Seyfrit told the Richmond Register:

"If your feet are cold, you're cold all over."

Donated socks should be unworn and still in their original Packaging. The center is collecting socks for both children and adults. The center could use flyer printing to let donors know exactly what they are looking for.

Seyfrit went on to say to the Richmond Register:

"We're asking that when you are doing your holiday shopping, pick up a new bag of socks, drop them off with us, and we’ll take care of the rest."

Donations are being accepted at the Battle of Richmond Visitors Center, located to the south of the city, at the junction of US 421 and 25. The center will be taking the donations through December 22. It is open six days a week, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday and from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturdays.
