Richmond Halloween fans will soon have a reason to smile thanks to plans made for a local state park.
The staff at Fort Boonesborough State Park have been planning the site’s 27th annual Halloween Party, and the schedule includes 13 nights of fun. The festivities are open to registered campers only.
The activities in the works range from a consumer contest to a camper decoration competition. The cool nights should be ideal for a campfire, and there will also be ghost walks, a pumpkin carving and decorating contest, hayrides, arts and crafts, and live entertainment. Special food, such as a soup bean supper and a pancake breakfast are on the agenda as well as the campers embrace the change of seasons.
Hosting a schedule of events like this gives a campground a way to extend its summer and make the most of the season. Welcoming the campers with specially prepared decor will help to build an exciting atmosphere, and a banner printing company will be able to offer options.
Fort Boonesborough State Park's Halloween Fest XXVII will be running from October 12 until October 24. It was noted that masks must be worn when indoors or when using public spaces, but they may be removed when eating or drinking or when in a private cottage or lodge room.
