Popular show returns to Richmond

A popular band will make a return to Richmond soon.

The Old Crow Medicine Show began their career in 1998, when they were performing on the streets, wandering through New York State and up into Canada. Their breakthrough came in Boone, North Carolina, when they were busking on the street in front of a drug store and were spotted by Don Watson. Watson invited them to appear at MerleFest, his music festival, and Old Crow were on their way.

They have now been performing for over 20 years and have received numerous honors and awards. They have been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, and have two Grammys to their credit, one for “Best Folk Album” for their 2014 effort “Remedy,” and the second for “Best Long Form Music Video, which they won in 2013 for “Big Easy Express.”

“Wagon Wheel,” a single, sold more than two million Copies, which earned it the RIAA’s Double-Platinum certification in 2019. They also released “Live at the Ryman” in 2019, and appeared on YouTube in a variety show called “Hartland Hootenanny.”

The Old Crow Medicine Show will appear at the Maymont in Richmond on Friday, September 17 at 7:00 pm, with the doors opening two hours before the start of the show. Poster printing is often used successfully to advertise events like this.
