The 41st Annual Alltech Lexington Street St. Patrick’s Parade and Irish Festival will have the Shamrock Shuffle, a race for Habitat for Humanity, parade, entertainment, and food. It is one of the oldest city events in Lexington.
The Shamrock Shuffle is a run, walk or shuffle to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. It begins at 8 am and ends at 9:30 am. At 8:45 am, awards and prizes will be given for the best Irish costumes.
The Blessing of the Kegs will be at 10:45 am at the Alltech tents located at the Robert F. Stevens Courthouse Plaza. This begins the festival and is followed by musical entertainment. There will be beer, soft drinks, and Irish food at this location.
At 10:45 am, the Blue Grass Ceili Academy will play followed by the Bluegrass Irish Society Sets and Sessions at 11:15 am. The McTeggart Irish Dancers will perform at 11:30 am. and at noon will be The Bold Roberts.
The parade begins at 1 pm and marches from Main Street from Midland Avenue to Mill Street. It will have marching bands, Irish music, floats, costumes, and community groups. Some local restaurants and shops will be open for business.
Entertainment continues at 2 pm with William Sutherland Reid Pipes and Drums and at 2:30 pm The Lexington Irish Dancers. The last group performs at 5 pm. Printers design Promotional Products for events like this.
